A wonderful friend celebrated her birthday last night and I was happy to be invited to help her celebrate. Surrounded by family and friends a great night was had by all. During a quiet moment outside she and I began to reflect on the past and how sad it is that as time goes on we find ourselves separated from those who meant most us. Be it distance or life changes, it becomes increasingly difficult to get together for even a few hours to enjoy each others company. Truth be told I only live 6 block away from her, I drop my daughter off at school around the corner from her house almost every morning and still we only see each other rarely at best. But still, no matter how much time passes or how far the distance between us – it amazes me how when make the time available to be with the ones who mean the most, it always feel like home and that no time has past at all. Family isn’t created by blood, family is about love and caring; and I love the people I chose to be in my family who also allow me to a part of theirs.
Happy Birthday Moo 🙂 xoxo
